System requirements
Halveo OS is aimed first at PCs that cannot move to Windows 11: TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are not required.

Known limitations
What does not work yet, or not everywhere.
- Installation still being validated on different PC models: back up your files before installing.
- ARM processors are not supported, such as those in recent Macs and some Copilot+ PCs.
- Recent NVIDIA graphics cards use the open-source driver by default; the official driver can be added after installation, with help from support.
- Secure Boot: if the stick does not start, turn it off in the PC settings (how).
- Live mode: applications installed from the stick disappear on restart.

Install in three steps
You need a USB stick of at least 8 GB and the file downloaded above.
- Create an installation USB stickWith a free tool such as balenaEtcher or Rufus (“DD image” mode if Rufus asks).
- Start the PC from the stickAt startup, press the boot menu key, often F12, F11 or Esc. Keys by PC brand.
- Try it, then installHalveo opens without changing anything on the disk. When you are happy, click “Install Halveo OS”. You can install it alongside Windows.

Verify the file
The checksum proves the file is intact; the signature proves it really comes from Halveo.
On Windows, in PowerShell, from the file’s folder:
Get-FileHash halveo-os-2.0.0-amd64.iso -Algorithm SHA256
The result must match the SHA-256 checksum shown above exactly.
On Linux, with the signature:
gpg --import halveo-cle.asc
gpg --verify SHA256SUMS.sig SHA256SUMS
sha256sum --check --ignore-missing SHA256SUMS
GnuPG must report a good signature from “Halveo OS”, with key fingerprint 802C 0390 1E78 1A3B A7A8 3015 ABCA F52E F7A4 E840.
